ARE COMMITTING

  • 1st of January 2018 - Plastic micro-bead ban came into force in the UK.  From July, you won't find any tiny beads in your cosmetics and personal care. These micro-beads were harming marine life.​​

  • Being proposed - Scotland to outlaw cotton buds, contributing to 50% of Scotland pollution today. (Source : Richard Dixon, director of Friends of the Earth Scoland).

  • Asda will get rid of all their 5p carrier bags by end of 2018, as well as replacing their own 2.4m plastic straws to carton straws.

 

  • Iceland is working on eliminating all plastic from their own products by 2023.

  • PG tips tea bags will be fully biodegradable & free from synthetic materials by end of 2018.

  • By 2025 - Mac Donald announced that all its packaging will be made of renewable, recycled & certified sustainable materials, moving from 50% in 2017.
